MAVA has been organizing in the past 2 years a unique 2 day film festival called ‘Samabhav’ (meaning Equanimity). The festival showcases feature, short and documentary films – national and international on the theme of Gender Diversity, Masculinity and Relationships. The 2 day festival has so far travelled to 17 cities and 8 districts across India reaching out to a wide youth population in universities, colleges and civil society bodies. Stirring Conversations, by gender rights activists, on contemporary gender matters over screenings of these films have been a key part of the travelling film festival, first of its kind in India.
The next round of Samabhav film fest will be held in Bengaluru on 20-22 June 2019 (3 day) at School of Sciences, Block 2, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) 1st Cross, J.C.Road, Bengaluru – 560027. Organized in collaboration with the British Deputy High Commission, Jain (Deemed to be University) and Vimochana’s Open University, the festival is open to all university and college students, civil society bodies, young filmmakers and the lay public across Bengaluru.
