People of all ages love watching films. And Hindi Cinema has been a powerful medium that attracts Indians, especially the Indian youth. Apart from the youth emulating the hair-style and other aspects of their likeable heroes on celluloid, there is a lot of influence of films among the impressionable young minds on ideas about what it means to be a man and expected roles of Men in society.
We, therefore, have come up with an exciting event on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women – an event that youth could connect easily with and benefit from the stimulating discussion generated.
On 25th November 2020, at 6.30 pm IST, Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA) in collaboration with Soroptimist International of Bangalore, is organizing a dialogue, where there would be 4 experienced professionals from the field speaking on the topic ‘Hindi Cinema & Gender Violence : Reel to Real’.
