M.A. in Social Work from TISS, with over 24 years of intensive experience in running multi-sector developmental programs on gender and health. This includes managing the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of a multinational company GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals for 9 years, working for 5 years in leading voluntary organizations Child Rights & You (CRY) and Blind Men’s Association (BMA), Mumbai. Currently, Consultant and Trainer to Corporates and NGOs on gender and developmental matters. This includes Consultancy, Sensitization Programs and Mechanisms to deal with sexual harassment of female employees at workplace.

Dr. Ravindra Rukmini Pandharinath: Hon. President
Currently, Hon. Director of Dharamitra, a NGO, based in Wardha, Maharashtra, working for sustainable agriculture and rural development. Former Professor and Chairperson, Academic Committee at NMIMS - School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, Shirpur Campus. An activist / researcher who has significantly contributed to the nation-wide campaign against sex-selective elimination of females and in drafting of policies and legislations on this issue. A renowned writer, he has been actively involved in MAVA’s key programs esp. its annual publication on gender issues

Sanjeev Chandorkar: Hon. Treasurer
SanjeevChandorkar, a mechanical engineer and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), has wide experience in industry, corporate finance and investment banking spanning over a career of more than 3 decades. He has been associated with youth movements during his youth and later with quite a few organizations working on social issues. He has been a regular contributor in Marathi magazines particularly addressing the issues concerning socially responsible youths. At present he is Associate Professor with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai teaching Financing Urban Infrastructure and also involved in few extension, outreach & research projects being undertake within the Institute.

Vijaya Chauhan: Member
She has done her B.A. with English Literature and Post-graduate diploma in Social Work from Pune University. Has intensive work experience in the developmental field. This includes work with UNICEF as a Program Officer (1982 – 2004) for Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and Rajasthan offices. Work areas included ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services), Urban Development, Environment, Sanitation, Basic Education and Health. Prior to UNICEF, She has worked from 1967-1982 with Indian Council of Social Welfare, Mumbai; Baroda Citizen’s Council, Vadodara and Community Aid and Sponsorship Program, Mumbai. She has been in the past many years actively associated with many social movements such as Pakistan-India People’s Forum for Peace and Democracy, National Alliance for People’s Movements (NAPM)) and Granthali Literary Movement in Maharashtra. She has also been a Trustee and Governing Council Member to several progressive social organizations like RashtraSeva Dal, Sadhana Trust, Muktangan – Paragon Charitable Trust and Meljol.

Mahesh Kamble: Member
Working as Assistant Professor in the Jamsetji Tata Centre for Disaster Management in the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai since 2006. After completing his Master’s in Social Work from TISS in 1995, he has worked on various assignments of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Rehabilitation of Project Affected People, building youth organizations, capacity- development and building networks. He was one of the consultants in drafting the Disaster Management Action Plan for the state of Maharashtra in 1997. As coordinator of youth program in YUVA, he anchored the AnubhavShiksha program for Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Goa. Apart from regular work of teaching and research, he actively engages in field practices on issues of food security, dalit rights, livelihood, governance and policy advocacy.
